Adapta Home USA helps homeowners find trusted contractors for home improvement and accessibility projects. That mission extends to our website: we want everyone — including people who use assistive technology — to search, browse, and connect with professionals independently and confidently.
We are committed to improving the accessibility of our digital products and working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What we are building toward
Our site is designed with accessibility in mind across these areas:
- High contrast visuals — Clear color contrast between text, backgrounds, and interactive elements so content is easier to read.
- Screen reader support — Semantic HTML, descriptive labels, and ARIA attributes where needed so assistive technologies can interpret pages accurately.
- Keyboard navigation — Core flows can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, including navigation, search, and primary calls to action.
- Adjustable text — Layouts that respect browser and system text-size settings without breaking content or hiding important controls.
- Media accessibility — Captions and text alternatives for meaningful images and video where we publish them.
Standards and testing
We review new features against WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria and test with:
- Keyboard-only navigation — Operate the site without a mouse.
- Screen readers — Tested on major browsers.
- Zoom and text scaling — Browser zoom and system text size settings.
- Color contrast — Checks on key UI patterns.
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we add pages, tools, and contractor listings, we continue to audit and refine the experience.
Known limitations
Some third-party content, embedded maps, or legacy pages may not yet meet our target level of accessibility. We prioritize fixes that affect the most-used paths — search, browse, listing details, and account flows.
